Meet Sharon Tucker: a trailblazer and community champion. Born with a passion for service and a drive for change, Sharon's journey is a testament to dedication and hard work. With a double-major from Indiana Tech in Management and Human Resources, her academic foundation laid the groundwork for a lifelong commitment to making a difference.
As the Executive Director of Vincent Village, Inc., Sharon dives heart-first into her role, working tirelessly to better her community. Her zest for community engagement is matched only by her impressive roster of affiliations, including the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Advancing Voices of Women (AVOW), and the NAACP. She lends her wisdom and energy to several boards, including the Allen County Public Library and Alliance Health Clinic, truly embodying the spirit of service.
Sharon's political journey is paved with historic milestones. From being the Treasurer of the Allen County Democratic Party to being the groundbreaking 6th District City Council seat winner, she’s shattered ceilings and forged new paths. Her tenure on the Allen County Council was marked by distinction as she was the lone female, African American, and Democrat. Today, she continues to shape the future from her City Council seat, notably co-chairing the City Council Finance Committee.
But Sharon's commitment doesn’t end with governance. She’s a mentor and a visionary, founding the Women in Politics Forum to embolden and educate aspiring female politicians. Through her initiative, P.A.S.E., Sharon fuels entrepreneurial dreams and economic growth in Southeast Fort Wayne.
Not just a political figure, Sharon is also an entrepreneur, running the successful ‘Classy Shay Designs’ on YouTube, offering a creative outlet to her followers alongside her impactful e-commerce business.
Her accomplishments in office speak volumes - from revolutionizing traffic flow with the Pontiac Roundabout to defeating food deserts with the Pontiac Street Market. Sharon's leadership has resulted in over 300 new homes in Southeast Fort Wayne, revitalizing parks, and welcoming new businesses, including a Starbucks, energizing the community she serves.
Above all, Sharon Tucker is a woman of the people, dedicated to her family and friends, and relentless in her pursuit of a better, brighter Fort Wayne for all.
